NBA 3.0

Another big move that Vivek Ranadive made was allowing Shaquille O’Neal to become a minority owner and special mentor to his franchise player DeMarcus Cousins.

DeMarcus Cousins addressing the fans how much he appreciates their continued support and love even through the dark days that this franchise has been through.

DLH_0149The vision that has O’Neal so enthused includes a new, $448 million arena that they hope will spark a downtown revival in Sacramento and is expected to be completed in 2016. And while an anti-arena group is continuing to gather signatures with the hopes of forcing an arena vote on the June ballot because of the $258 million public subsidy, O’Neal and his new co-workers remain confident their plans will be put in place. The Kings have played in Arco Arena since 1988, and — per Ranadive’s agreement to buy the team — must have the new building in place by 2017 or the NBA can seize ownership and facilitate new ownership, likely in a new city.

ertGreivis Vasquez tells me he would love to end his career in Sacramento. And the some of the players gives Kings fans some love for being so loyal. You can follow me on Twitter @beasleo for more of my exclusive interviews.

Los aficionados de los Kings de Sacramento fueron espectaculares.

One of the craziest, most loyal fan I have interviewed thus far.

This night was amazing and will always be memorable in my life. Here are more pictures from this day and some nice action pictures from my co-worker Darren Hall.
